Partnership in Prayer 3

The power of agreement is a mystery. When the whole earth was of one language and one speech, even God testified that nothing would be impossible for men; even the building of a tower reaching heaven. Nothing an agreed people imagine will be impossible to achieve.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Genesis 11:6
The sage, author, poet and king, Solomon Jedediah ben David wrote in his wisdom:

It's better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there's no one to help, tough! Two in a bed warm each other. Alone, you shiver all night. By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped. Eccl 4:9-12 (MSG)

You are better off to have a friend than to be all alone, because then you will get more enjoyment out of what you earn. If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble. If you sleep alone, you won't have anyone to keep you warm on a cold night. Someone might be able to beat up one of you, but not both of you. As the saying goes, "A rope made from three strands of cord is hard to break." (CEV)

Partnerships encourage persistence. Partnerships transfer burden. Partnerships encourage alertness. Partnerships strengthen faith. Partnerships keep us accountable in prayer. Faithful prayer partnerships are a key to effective prayer. Ask Paul and Silas in the Thyatiran jail. Ask the church gathered in the house of John Mark’s mother praying for Peter’s deliverance from a blood thirsty Herod and certain unreasonable Jews.

Acts 16:25,26 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Act 12:5,11,12  Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him… And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
