I've seen the Seven Wonders of Nigeria and then some...
“Even
if God should open the windows of heaven, could these things happen?”
~The
man on whose arm the king leaned. [Killed in a stampede accident c800 B.C.]
Just
have a little faith.
If
you go to Katsina, you’ll find ten naira bread;
If you
go to Ibadan, you’ll find five naira bus rides.
All
things are possible.
If
you go to Lagos, you’ll find two-man churches;
If
you go to Aba, you’ll find Chinese.
All
things are possible.
If
you go to Ilorin, you’ll find a skyscraper;
If
you go to Keffi, you’ll find a fly-over.
All
things are possible.
If
you go to Owerri, you’ll find black yam flour amala and gbegiri soup joints;
If
you go to Oko (and no, it’s not on the map), you’ll find an international
school complete with expatriates.
All
things are possible.
If
you go to Ogbomoso, you’ll find pure American English speaking congregations;
If
you go to Sagamu, you’ll find eight year old herbalists.
All
things are possible.
If
you go to Mbaise, you’ll find a suya spot;
If
you go to Zamfara, you’ll find gold.
All
things are possible.
It
therefore follows that if you go to Victoria Island, you’ll find pit latrines.*
Because,
my friend, ALL things are possible... to them that believe.
Dead faith or faith failure is like cardiac arrest. And everywhere we turn, we hear flatlines. *beep* Code Blue. But then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So, next time you hear heaven whisper something curious, believe it. Like me, He’s been there, done that.
And
though God has not exactly eaten amala in Owerri or taken five naira
bus rides in Ibadan, He knows. With Him all things are possible. And with you (to them that believe),
all things are possible.
Just
have a little faith. We've been moving mountains with mustard seed.
‘Now
faith is being sure of what we hope for and being certain of what we do not
see.’
~
Author and place of writing unknown. AD 60-70. 11:1 Hebrews
Only
the marked fact has not been sufficiently researched. Still, ‘I believed, and
therefore, I spoke’.
I
tried not to tag you if you worked on the Island...;)
